Children’s Classics – The Jungle Book

Sorry it has been ages since I posted some new work – this spring has been a busy time for me but I have tons of exciting new projects to show off! The postman just delivered some more in my range of leather-bound children’s classics for Barnes and Noble: The Jungle Book, The Blue Fairy and Greek Myths. The Jungle Book has always been a favourite of mine so now I am excited about reading this beauty to my little nephews.

See more from my series of covers here and here.

Leather bound children’s classics for Barnes & Noble

This has to be one of my all time favourite projects! Here are the latest in a series of 9 leather bound children’s classics I have designed for Barnes and Noble. So far six have been published – including A Little Princess, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and The Wind in the Willows. Three more will be out next year. The books are beautifully bound in leather with embossed illustrations and silver foiling and really were a dream to work on.

THE BEST LITTLE BOOK CLUB

A while ago I designed the cover for a series of chick-lit short stories called The Book Lover’s Appreciation Society.  This summer, I was asked to illustrate the second book in the series: The Best Little Book Club in Town – a collection of stories by the likes of Sophie Kinsella, Kate Mosse and Jodi Picoult. Enjoy!

AND THEN IT HAPPENED

A new novel by acclaimed author Linda Green has just hit the shelves. I love designing books where I get to play with the whole cover – lettering and illustration interacting together. For this one, the art director at Headline had a specific idea of what he wanted from the start – but we still managed to go round the houses. Behold, the evolution of the book cover (final version bottom right!)
